WWE SummerSlam 2026 takes place on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, beginning at 6:00 PM ET on both nights. The card has a championship match for almost every major title, a first-ever interim women's title ladder match, a Hell in a Cell rubber match, and the most anticipated one-on-one matchup WWE has put together in years. WWE SummerSlam 2026 Event Details
SummerSlam 2026 streams live in the United States on ESPN Unlimited. International fans can watch on Netflix in most markets. The main card begins at 6:00 PM ET / 3:00 PM PT on both nights. This is the second consecutive two-night SummerSlam and the 39th edition of the event overall. The event is also being promoted as SummerSlam: Minnesota, the first time the stadium in Minneapolis has hosted a WWE event of this scale.
Confirmed Match Card Build-up and Predictions
Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs Cody Rhodes
The Build-up
WWE teased this match the night after WrestleMania 42, when Cody Rhodes told CM Punk, "just say when" during a backstage exchange on Raw. Three months later, they swapped positions entirely. Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn at Night of Champions. Punk returned on July 6 Raw in Chicago, replacing an injured Rhodes after Gunther's attack, and pinned Zayn to win the title. On SmackDown on July 10, the two came face-to-face in Oklahoma City. Rhodes challenged Punk to a title match at SummerSlam. Punk threw the same two words back at him, "Just say when." Rhodes said SummerSlam. Punk said when. Nick Aldis made it official.
This is the first singles match between the two in WWE. Both men have been circling each other since Punk's return at Survivor Series WarGames in November 2023. The story has been building for nearly three years.

Prediction: Punk retains. This feels like the start of a longer programme, not the end of one. A clean Punk win sets up a Rhodes rematch down the line, possibly at WrestleMania 43. World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs Seth Rollins
The Build-up
On June 29, Raw at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Seth Rollins challenged Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Rollins told Reigns this could be one of the last times they ever do battle in the ring. "This may be your last chance to close that loop. You and I came into this company together. We came through that crowd. We knocked down the door. We kicked the old generation to the curb. We made this place our own."
In one-on-one matches, Rollins holds a slight edge over Reigns with five victories, four losses and one draw. Rollins also secured a win against Reigns and CM Punk in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania.
On Raw July 13, Reigns and Rollins signed the contract for their SummerSlam match. They went back and forth with personal shots before Rollins took out Reigns to end the show.
At Saturday Night's Main Event at Madison Square Garden, Rollins enlisted Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton to help distract Reigns and ambush him, but it did not work. Reigns ended the night standing tall alongside New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson. On July 20 Raw, Rollins refused Solo Sikoa's offer to help neutralise The Bloodline ahead of SummerSlam, choosing to fight his battles alone.
The retirement undertone running through this feud makes every segment feel like it counts. Reigns has weaponised it, telling Rollins on Raw: "What if you do beat me at SummerSlam? You're gonna carry it for a couple of months and get hurt again?"

Prediction: Reigns retains. Those odds exist for a reason. Rollins refusing Sikoa's help will likely cost him, and that story plays out after Minneapolis.
Hell in a Cell: Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) vs Oba Femi
The Build-up
At Night of Champions, Oba Femi won the King of the Ring tournament, defeating Jey Uso in the final. His celebration on the following Raw was interrupted immediately by Brock Lesnar, who attacked him without warning. Lesnar issued a Hell in a Cell challenge, and Femi accepted, foregoing his guaranteed world championship match as King of the Ring to settle the score.
The two traded wins at WrestleMania 42 and Clash in Italy. This is the rubber match, and the Cell stipulation means neither man can escape the consequences of what they started. Femi walking into the Cell against Lesnar in Minneapolis with a King of the Ring briefcase he willingly gave up, is one of the boldest decisions any character has made on WWE television this year.
Betting Odds: Oba Femi is 1/33 to win. Brock Lesnar is priced at 10/1.
Prediction: Femi wins. The odds are emphatic, and the booking logic backs it up. Femi gave up a title shot to take this fight; he has to win, or the sacrifice means nothing. A clean Cell win over a legend like Lesnar in match three of the trilogy is the defining moment that Femi's main roster push has been building toward.
Women's World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs Iyo Sky
The Build-up
Iyo Sky won the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions in Riyadh, defeating Liv Morgan in the final despite Morgan entering as the reigning Women's World Champion. Sky earned her SummerSlam title shot with that win.
On the following Raw, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez beat down Iyo Sky in a post-show segment, with Michael Cole confirming the Women's World Championship stipulation for SummerSlam. Morgan has held the title since WrestleMania 42. Sky has been the most consistent performer in the women's division across 2026.
Betting Odds: Liv Morgan is 2/5 to retain. Iyo Sky is priced at 7/4, the shortest challenger price of any title match on the card.
Prediction: Iyo Sky wins the title. The 7/4 odds tell a story. Sky has been built all year carefully, and the QOTR win was not booked to go nowhere. A Sky reign sets up a massive unification match with Rhea Ripley down the line when she returns from injury.
Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs Chad Gable
The Build-up
Penta has been one of the most protected champions on the Raw roster since winning the Intercontinental title from Dominik Mysterio in March 2026. Chad Gable earned the number one contender spot by defeating Ethan Page, Rusev, Je'Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Dominik Mysterio, and Joe Hendry in a match at Saturday Night's Main Event at Madison Square Garden. The contrast in styles, Penta's lucha influence against Gable's technical wrestling, makes this the most interesting match on the card from a pure wrestling standpoint.

Gunther vs Nick Aldis
The Build-up
At Saturday Night's Main Event at Madison Square Garden, the tag team match between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes versus Gunther and Sami Zayn ended with Nick Aldis costing Gunther the victory. This led to the announcement at the SummerSlam Kickoff show at Fanatics Fest that Gunther and Aldis would do battle at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Build-up

The winner will eventually unify titles with Ripley when she returns.
Confirmed participants: Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and three other opponents to be determined.
Prediction: Jade Cargill wins. She has been built as one of the most dominant physical presences in the women's division all year, and a ladder match plays directly to her strengths. Cargill vs Ripley upon Rhea's return is the match that makes the most sense when the time comes.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, Royce Keys vs Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu
The Build-up
WWE has confirmed a 6-man tag team match featuring LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys against Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso. The Bloodline civil war has been one of the most complicated ongoing stories on WWE television throughout 2026. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, once aligned, are now on opposite sides of a divide that has pulled in outside names on both teams.
