How the Tournament Works
The Group Stage: Two Groups of Six
The 12 teams are divided into two groups of six. Every team plays every other team in their group once. That's five group-stage games per team. The top two teams from each group move to the knockout stage.
Group A: Australia, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
Group B: England (hosts), New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland
Every point matters with six teams in a group. You're under pressure if you lose one. Lose twice, and your tournament is essentially over. The group stage runs from 12 June to 28 June 2026.
The Knockout Stage: Semi-Finals and the Final
The top two teams from Group A and Group B play each other in cross-group semi-finals on 30 June 2026. The two winners then met in the Final at Lord's cricket ground on 5 July 2026.
